Summer 2010
Nursery-3 Years Old: Wee Believe Leader: Ila Wolfe
Building foundations to help young children learn about God’s love for them. Most of the Bible stories are explored for 2 sessions. We do this so young children have an opportunity to learn through repetition.
4 and 5 Year Olds: Wee Believe Leaders: Sheree Miller & Nancianna Nott
Same as above with curriculum for 4-5 yr olds. Bible stories for this age will be about God’s love, God’s creation, Moses, the Ten Commandments, Samuel, and Isaiah.
Grades 1-2: We Believe Leaders: Healey Ikerd & Marcia Casey
Children will study Old Testament stories of God’s people as they encounter God. Examples include changes with the Israelite people, building the Ark of the Covenant, King David establishes a home for the people of Israel in Jerusalem, and Solomon builds a temple.
Grades 3-4: We Believe Leaders: Jill & Andy Tackett and Tor & Teresa Faulk.
Children in Grades 3 and 4 will study Old Testament stories of God’s people as they encounter God. Examples include changes with the Israelite people, building the Ark of the Covenant, King David establishes a home for the people of Israel in Jerusalem, and Solomon builds a temple.
Grades 5-6: I Know My Bible Leaders: Karen Trimble & Nancy Holt
Do young people want to know the Bible? Yes! They often feel at a disadvantage if they’re not familiar enough with the Bible, and know the major stories. Nor are they comfortable enough to read it with any assurance they can make sense of it. The purpose of this course is to help youth gain the knowledge and assurance to say “I know my Bible!”
Grades 7-12: Faith QuestionsLeaders David & Scarlett Morris, Rex & Kim Garrett & Ed Carson
Based on questions posed by older youth from around the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), each session will encourage youth to look to Scripture and to our faith in relevant and responsive ways.
