Mission Service Oppotunities
Secret Service
With the Mission Teams blessings, the Youth Ministry Team has developed a team of youth and adult sponsors who are interested in helping church members or members of the community with household chores they can no longer do themselves. This group is called Secret Service based on the concept from Matthew 6:3: But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Contact Mary Shaw, at 273-5450, if you or someone you know has a need our young people can help with.

Youth Bridge
FPC Mission Team has chosen Youth Bridge as a mission focus of our church. This means that our church can reach out with a concentrated effort to touch the lives of young people in our community who might be struggling in different ways. Lots of amazing opportunities await us!

The mission of Youth Bridge is to help at-risk youth & their families build brighter futures by providing supportive & empowering services.

Youth Bridge is northwest Arkansas’ leading provider of comprehensive care to troubled teens & their families. They provide outpatient therapy & counseling, residential substance abuse treatment, emergency shelters, academic & social support, a therapeutic group home for teens involved in the juvenile justice system & a transitional living program for homeless young adults. Each year Youth Bridge serves more than a thousand teens & their families from an eight-county area in northwest & north central Arkansas.

By providing one-on-one professional attention, Youth Bridge is giving area teens the confidence, education & interpersonal skills that they need to become successful, thriving adults. Youth Bridge has a facility in Centerton which is in need of some TLC. Many youth call this facility home for several months or longer. This is where FPC fits in!

The mission team is currently coordinating a much needed bathroom remodel at the facility. This two day project will be in June (watch bulletin or e-mail for details) & only a few skilled volunteers are needed for this particular project, however over the next few months, more volunteers will be needed to help with other projects like painting, cleaning, organizing, etc. What an awesome opportunity to reach out & make a difference in the lives of troubled youth in our community!

If you have questions or are interested in helping, please contact Healey Tonsing or call the church office at 273-5450. You can find more information at Youth Bridge.

Looking for a Few Good Pen Pals
If you would like to write our sponsored child from Honduras, Ruly Manuel, please take an address label from the bulletin board (located in the hallway on the way to the Fellowship Hall). You may write these letters in English & they will be translated into Spanish before he gets them.

Ink Cartridge Recycle Program
The Mission Team is collecting old print and toner cartridges to raise money to cover expenses for the upcoming Family Mission Trip. You can help!! Just collect those old cartridges from your home and office and drop them in the box located in the Welcome Hall. The company covers our postage to send them in and we get cash for every cartridge received.

Feed the Hungry in Northwest Arkansas
Do you ever wonder if you can do something to help feed the hungry in our community? You can! It is something that is very simple to do and can make a big difference to someone who is less fortunate.

Next time you are going shopping, pick up an extra item or two of something that you are purchasing. Instead of one can of green beans, pick up an extra can. Instead of purchasing one box of macaroni and cheese, purchase two. You can also get your children involved! When they choose a breakfast cereal, have them choose and extra one that someone else might enjoy. Pack your extra items in a bag and place near your door. Next time you come to church, grab the bag and drop it in the grocery cart near the Resource Room in the Welcome Hall.

All of the donated food is taken to the Salvation Army to feed those that are hungry…year around. It is hard to imagine that in our blessed community, there are so many children and adults who go to bed hungry every night.

Let’s do our part. Please remember these families the next time you are in the store or when you bow your head to thank God for your meal, please say a prayer for all those that do not have enough food to eat. Thank you for your continued support through this important ministry.
For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat...
